The symmetric shape of this fascinating pendant light from Artemide reminds us of a nosediving seagull. This was also the basis for the light’s name Mouette (French for "seagull"). Its originality and the innovative character were honoured with numerous awards, for instance, this pendant light won the Red Dot Award. The extraordinary luminaire body of the Artemide Mouette that is made in one piece is manufactured as part of an innovative rotational injection moulding process. This technology not only facilitates the extraordinary shape of this pendant lamp but it is also responsible for its special lighting effect. The Mouette designer light is a creation by Wilmotte & Associés from 2004 and it is made of extruded aluminium as well as modern polypropylene.
