Patroclo

Patroclo is an Artemide table lamp by Gae Aulenti from 1975. The body is transparent blown glass, and the diffuser is partly covered by an irregular rhomboid frame of welded steel wire; the glass is blown inside that frame. The frame gives the lamp a graphic look, and the glass is then faceted, so the light that comes through is mottled and soft.

It sits well on a chest of drawers, a desk or a shelf, where its sculptural form can be seen. The lamp has a dimmer, so the light level can be matched to the evening.
