Metacolor is an Artemide floor lamp in opal acrylic on a metal base, designed in 2001 by Ernesto Gismondi. It uses RGB sources, so it changes the colour of the light and shapes the mood of a room from neutral white to strong colours.
It works best in a living room, a bar, a hotel lobby or a shop window, where the light should change the character of the space during the day and in the evening. In the white version it stays a neutral object even when switched off.
With the controller you choose one of ten standard atmospheres, store ten more of your own and adjust the light intensity. A display on the lamp base shows the selected atmosphere, and a blue light near the base shows that the lamp is on.
The lamp is supplied with its light source. Dimensions 150 × 340 × 2005 mm; IP20 for indoor use. The version offered is METACOLOR F LED – APP COMPATIBLE in white, with an opal acrylic diffuser.
